SURVEY! SURVEY! SURVEY!
Tired of taking surveys? We get it. However, if you haven’t already completed the final survey in SHARE’s series of three, we hope you’ve got energy for just one more. It’s important.
The survey is anonymous. It takes about 10 minutes. You can do it on a computer or your phone. We know that many of you completed the first two SHARE surveys, as well as UMass Memorial’s current “Pulse Survey.” That participation matters. Thank you!
Artificial Intelligence Can Be Weirdly Funny
Speaking of AI, if you’re going to use it, you need time, training, and expertise to do it well. (And even then, AI can be wrong, of course.) We all know that SHARE members know our jobs better than anyone, and that you can’t just plug expertise into a computer and expect good results.
That’s why SHARE is researching the future of work and partnering with experts at leading institutions, especially MIT, to develop effective strategies for determining when to implement new technologies, and how to do it well. These strategies put SHARE members in the driver’s seat.
In case you missed it, you can read more about that work here.
And, for your enjoyment, here are a couple of demonstrations of AI gone wrong . . .
Comic Draft #1: Pickle with a Mohawk Takes an Online Survey
We asked AI to draw a funny comic strip about “survey fatigue.” We can’t explain why it didn’t include any pictures. But here’s the result!
Comic Draft #2: Pickle with a Mohawk Experiences Survey Fatigue
. . . so, we asked AI to include some images in a watercolor style. Behold the comic genius!
