SHARE Members:

Always Essential

We are the nearly 3000 SHARE Members who — through thick and thin — keep UMass Memorial Medical Center, UMass Memorial Medical Group, And UMass Memorial Health running. Whether we care directly for patients or work in the background, these last two years have been incredibly difficult. We need our hospital to come through for us now with good raises and a strong contract.

SHARE members — including our Radiation Oncology department in Marlboro — wear red to show we’re sticking together.

Over 2400 SHARE Members signed on to this statement before we sent our poster to print. We will stand together as the SHARE Union.

Since SHARE formed in 1997, we have been guided by the principles of kindness and respect. Also, when appropriate, a sense of humor. Twenty-five years later, we continue to infuse those principles in every interaction we have — in our departments, with patients, in our online communities, with management, and in negotiations.

SHARE has partnered with UMass Memorial to improve patient care and grow its business in pioneering ways. We are committed to continuing this partnership: a) within our hospital through Unit Based Teams and other projects, and b) in our broader community, lobbying together to foster a climate of health for our neighbors and economic growth for our hospital.

For twenty-five years, SHARE members have taken care of Central Massachusetts. Through the pandemic and staffing shortages, we kept our hospital going strong.

We’re looking forward to our next twenty-five. To do what we need to do, we need our hospital to support our mission, and respect what we do with good raises.

SHARE’s 2022 Contract Negotiating Team has developed a deep understanding of SHARE members’ interests and priorities through surveys, listening sessions, and countless thousands of one-on-one conversations.

SHARE provides members an independent voice in our workplace — and we use it!
